Home users may benefit from using this product if they have various chronic health conditions when the autonomic nervous system is directly or indirectly involved in the pathogenesis of their conditions. The health assessment data gives them a picture of how much their body is affected by stress, what is their overall health state and how much reserves their body has to manage the body homeostasis. Compared to the normal ranges, test readings indicate how significantly the autonomic function is affected. By tracking test metrics from test to test over time they may see whether the given treatment options the work well enough.

Healthy individuals may use the product to track their health metrics to see if their current lifestyle may have any possible adverse effect on health. Besides, they may use it to monitor for the early signs of possible health changes when no symptoms show up yet.

Using breathwork training options regularly may help in reducing stress and improving the treatment of the existing health conditions.

Healthy individuals will benefit from regular use of breathwork training as well. Doing 5-min breathwork 2-3 times a day will help to fend off many stress-induced health problems.

This software provides two main procedures:

The Health assessment test is based on standard heart rate variability (HRV) analysis of 5-min recording of heart rate at rest. It delivers the following output metrics:

Stress Index – indicates the stress levels. Lower Stress Index is associated with better functional adaptivity of the body to adverse factors. Systematically high Stress Index not associated with the presence of acute stress factors may indicate chronic stress, inadequate body’s functional adaptivity, and possible chronic illnesses.

Autonomic Balance – indicates the functional balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the autonomic nervous system. Maintaining a good autonomic balance at rest is a sign of an absence of chronic stress and associated illnesses.

Resting Heart Rate – an average heart rate reading taken at rest. It is considered as a good general indicator of cardiovascular and overall health. Healthy individuals maintain their resting HR within certain ranges. Regularly captured too low or too high resting HR may indicate the presence of some issues with cardiovascular or overall health.

HRV Index – indicates the overall activity of the autonomic nervous system. Higher readings indicate an adequate function of the autonomic nervous system and functional adaptivity of the body. Systematically captured low readings may be considered as a sign of autonomic dysfunction and the presence of some chronic conditions.

Vagal Index – indicates the tone of the Vagus nerve which predominantly represents the function of the parasympathetic nervous system. Adequate levels of vagal tone are essential to maintain health and high adaptivity of the body. Low levels captured systematically could be a sign of the presence of some chronic conditions.

Adaptation Effort – indicates the intensity of activity of the mechanisms of regulation of bodily functions aimed to adapt to adverse changes inside and outside of the body and maintain its homeostasis. Many chronic illnesses are associated with chronic stress as a key part of their pathogenesis. Chronic stress disturbs homeostasis so the body’s mechanisms of self-regulation keep trying to restore it. So the stronger chronic stress the more efforts are taken for body adaptation.

Adaptation Reserve – indicates the amount of body’s resources available in the body’s efforts to restore its homeostasis. The healthy organism has a high level of internal reserves for efficient adaptation. Chronic stress causes the body to spend these reserves in continued efforts to adapt and regain its homeostasis.

Health Stage Index – indicates the state of the process of disease development passing several stages from the normal condition to possible pathology. This metric is a product of a complex relation between adaptation efforts and adaptation reserves. Its scale has several ranges indicating the sequence of states the body falls in while the disease is progressing.

The anti-stress biofeedback training utilizes a well-known RSA (respiratory sinus arrhythmia) biofeedback technique based on recording and analyzing heart rate during deep breathing at a slow rate for 5 minutes. It delivers the following output metrics:

Resonance – indicates how well the body responded to deep paced breathing providing stress reduction effect. This metric is continuously captured and indicated during a training session providing a feedback loop. An averaged level of resonance is provided at the end of the training. The higher levels of the resonance indicate better stress-reducing effects of training.

Training Focus – a quantitative measure of the ability to maintain the best possible level of training score during a training session. High focus indicates that a trainee took the best efforts in achieving best training results.

HR Variation – a quantitative measure showing how much heart rate was varying under effect of deep slow breathing. Higher values of HR variation indicate that baroreflex function works well. Baroreflex is a key physiological mechanism aimed to provide quick cardiovascular adaptation to maintain stable blood supply to the brain.
